Four forest friends have vanquished the exterminator form their land. Now a new menace has surfaced and Hammy, RJ and Verne are called back into action to battle a crazy cat lady, a tool-toting handyman and Boris, an overly eager beaver, who has his own designs for Mother Nature. Fur and shell collide with kitty litter and satellite TV in this new addition to the Over the Hedge™ video-game franchise.
In the Game Boy® Advance version, players encounter 30 diverse levels where they are equipped with boomerangs, golf clubs and other sporty items as they come to the aid of their friend Boris the Beaver. Gamers play as one of nine different characters as they raid different regions of suburbia. In Quick Play mode, they can revisit unlocked levels to earn high scores just for fun. Fans can also choose to play alone or with friends in hot-seat multiplayer mode, which allows up to four people to play in any of the previously unlocked levels.
The Nintendo DS™ game lets gamers control four characters by using the full touch screen system and enjoy the action with the enhanced dual-screen display. Once players complete a level they can take pleasure in triggering mischievous pranks they have set up to distract Duane the Exterminator, and can view the events on an exclusive in-game TV network. Players can also choose to re-live moments from the game by returning to designated points and times to access replays.
In the PSP® system version fans interact with new characters, explore 3D environments and experience “Hammy Time,” which allows Hammy to streak around and overcome opponents in the blink of an eye. Players can also play against up to three friends in wireless multiplayer mode and unlock secret features like comic strips, film stills and special gameplay modes. This version offers eight playable arenas of multiplayer, plus several multiplayer modes.
